The weekend's Mozart triumvirate ends with James Campbell leading the C minor Quintet followed by Shostakovich's most poignant and autobiographical works, his Eighth Quartet. Pianist Martin Roscoe will then charm the audience with Schumann’s Kinderszenen, thirteen little pieces that capture the playful innocence of childhood, and complete the concert with the magnificent gesture of Beethoven’s final sonata, its breathtaking drama and tension finally resolved in peace, the journey complete.
Martin Roscoe piano, James Campbell clarinet, Hermitage String Trio, New Zealand String Quartet.
