Crazy Fat Brazilian plays smooth, funky flavours that bring Brazilian rhythms and jazzy melodies together to present a fun dancable sound.
Elaine Abras was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and studied music and vocal techniques at Fundacao de Educacao Artistica, one of the best schools in BH. Later she lived in London where she developed her fusion style. Elaine, who sings jazz, bossa, funk and soul, has been in New Zealand for two years and has really developed a reputation for a true Brazilian groove.
Darryn Sigley is an experienced drummer, schooled in Wellington at the Jazz Conservatorium, Darryn has travelled to Brazil and absorbed the rhythmic complexities of Brazilian music. In 2004 he performed on the original Fly my Pretties Live Album and is currently a member of Kiwi band Batucada Sound Machine.
Paul Mouncey played bass guitar with Odessa band and studied Jazz at Massey University in Wellington.
