A workout/dance routine with a fitness focus.

It's the cardio conditioning of belly dance shimmies, pops, locks and drills infused with the strength training of Pilates!

The class is divided into three parts:

- Standing Pilates - 15 minutes
The classic Pilates mat workout exercises are taken into the vertical plane. Standing Pilates provides the link between mat workout and every day movement. It adds the challenge of balancing and works towards achieving better alignment.

- Mat workout - 20 minutes
A body sculpting routine that incorporates belly dance floor work. The smooth, precise flowing movements strengthen your core, improve your dance technique and help create a long, leaned appearance.

- Belly dance workout - heat building series - 25 minutes
Non stop shimmies, pops, locks, drills and beats! an all over body workout. Get stronger quads and triceps that will help you become quicker and lighter on your feet.

Try Belly Dance for Fitness for $5 per class for your first three classes! (Normal casual rate $12)

Things to bring: yoga mat
Wear comfortable clothes, e.g loose pants and a singlet or t-shirt

Held in the Carmel College dance studio.

    not sure why it reads "booking fees may apply". There's no booking fee! just drop in and have an invigorating workout!
