Prints from the Seacourt Print Workshop, Bangor, Northern Ireland.
In July 2009 Mark Graver (Wharepuke Print Studio -Kerikeri) was invited to run a non toxic printmaking workshop at the Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor. During the two day course they explored acrylic resist etching using copper sulphate and salt to etch aluminium plates. The resist used was an acrylic floor polish and the prints were printed using Akua water based intaglio inks.
Since the workshop the members of Seacourt have been working with, and developing, these techniques to produce the works included in this exhibition.
It is hoped that Catherine Thompson, Chair of Seacourt’s Board of Directors will be able to attend the exhibition and give a talk about Seacourt at a closing reception – details will follow nearer the time

Acrylic resist etching workshop:
A two day weekend workshop covering acrylic resist etching with aluminium and/or copper will take place at the Wharepuke Print Studio on Saturday and Sunday, March 5th and 6th. The workshop is open to all levels of experience and will look at some of the techniques employed in the work by the Seacourt artists. Places are limited and a non refundable deposit is required to secure a slot.
Course cost is $190.00 per person for the two days and includes all materials.
If you’re interested or would like more information please email the studio at info@nontoxic-printmaking.co.nz
