The Auckland community is invited to make a set of ‘communal thought flags’ as an event-based, public participatory artwork in collaboration with artist Tiffany Singh. The work is an attempt to find a positive inversion of ‘commodity art’ and aims to create a place of trust and sentiment by using the public gallery to create meditative spaces of reflection, participation, education and empowerment.
“The work is evolving and via the addition of more and more flags the work takes on its own life and form. It becomes a growing entity that embodies and reflects us."
