“Danger High Voltage”: Kora, State of Mind, Kidz in Space, Bad Ezzy, Kween G, DJ Killamanraro and Insomniac. Big sounds, big stage, big acts, BBQ and you!

- Kora:

The Whakatane brothers, Laughton, Francis, Stuart and Brad Kora along with Dan McGruer, who are collectively known as powerhouse dub/funk rockers Kora, once again grace Otautahi with their home-grown brand of hard hitting guitar and bass driven dub styles. From the humble beginnings of the anthemic ‘Politician’ to the rocking riffs of their big single ‘Skankenstien’ Kora have, over the past 7 years toured relentlessly and performed at The Big Day Out, Splore, Rhythm and Vines and WOMAD, proving themselves to be one of Aotearoa’s premier live acts. Later this year they will begin a tour of the United States, so it is highly recommended that everyone takes the opportunity to see this great act on what will be the end of great day. Kora headline Amp it Up.

- State of Mind:

Fresh off the back of recent local gigs Phat 11 and Soundclash, the State of Mind boys once again return to Christchurch, with their stomping, bass rattling set of drum and bass grooves and breaks. With two full albums up their sleeves and more promised this year, State of Mind are true home grown legends. Having worked with PNC, Tiki and Black Sun Empire to name a couple, these lads will be sure to keep things at a killer pace, amping it up and sweating it out.

- Kidz In Space:

Ashley Hughes, Mat Neshat and Josh Fountain make up this trio of synthesiser-beat-based, hip hop with pop sensibilities act that will well and truly get the dance floor pumping. With smooth flows and jump up poppy breaks and beats, Kidz in Space are the new wave of hip pop and are guaranteed to impress you.

- Bad Ezzy (HOOPs) and Kween G (Killaqueenz):

Girl power comes to orientation this year, as we are treated to two of Australia’s up incoming MCs of power pop and hip hop. Bad Ezzy of HOOPs (Japanese/Korean pop) and Kween G of Killaqueenz (hip hop/dancehall) are going to be double trouble and will have you sweating it out on the dance floor to their killer beats and hard out hip hop flows. Kween G has performed with such luminaries as Lady Gaga and Wu Tang Clan and is guaranteed to ‘Bring Da Ruckus’, this is Australasian bad girl hip pop at its finest.

- DJ Killamanraro:

Without a doubt one of the best DJ handles ever, Auckland’s ‘Man Raro’ has been spinning tunes for the music loving masses since the late 1990s and has since gone on to establish himself as one of AK's foremost purveyors of hip-hop/reggae/dancehall/funk and all things deep and soulful, and has built a reputation for creating a bevy of mash-up blends aimed squarely at the dancefloor with more than a hint of fromage.

- Insomniac:

With over a decade of mixing beats and DJing everywhere and anywhere, from Christchurch’s clubs to dance parties and beyond. Insomniac is one of our city’s premier selectahs and carries with him a crate of musical goodness with the perfect selection to keep any good party moving along nicely.

To be held in the UCSA Amphitheatre.
