Calling all cyclists - and anyone who is thinking about giving riding a go! Jump on your bike and join Mayor Len Brown, Auckland Ambassador Sir John Walker and a host of other cycling fans for a yummy free breakfast at the Viaduct.
The 2011 Go By Bike Breakfast is the biggest event of its type in Auckland. There are displays, activities and loads of great of spot prizes to be won. You could even win yourself a specialized mountain bike!
How to get there: ride to Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour on Wednesday February 16 between 6.30am and 9am. There are three special “cycling buses” heading to the breakfast from Tamaki Drive, the north-western cycleway and Dominion Road. Arriving by sea? Remember, cycles go free on Fullers ferries.
Cycling is inexpensive, easy and a great way to get fit. It reduces pollution and traffic congestion by getting people out of private cars and into the cycle lanes and is an important part of Auckland’s transport environment. Most importantly, it’s great fun!
The 2011 Go By Bike Breakfast is sponsored by BikeWise, More FM and Sierra Café.
