Don McGlashan is one of New Zealand’s best known and loved songwriters. He led iconic band The Mutton Birds for most of the '90s, relocating with the group to London for the latter half of that time. Their third album “Envy Of Angels” made the UK Sunday Times' ten best albums list in 1996. David Sheppard of Q Magazine described Don’s songs as “from the same cerebral power-pop motherlode as Big Star and Early REM” and called The Mutton Birds’ 4th album “Rain Steam & Speed” “…a minor masterpiece”.
The show at Nelson’s Theatre Royal will be a rare chance to hear Don sing songs from his long career in an intimate setting.
