New originals and energetic grooves.

Flautist Trudy Lile returns to CJC with an exciting new set of originals and an explosive band featuring Andrea Groenewald on guitar and Kevin Field on piano. Influenced by many energetic grooves, and complemented by rich harmony and angular melodies, the band will be exploring a range of colours and emotions.

Trudy has been seen entertaining audiences around New Zealand since 2000. Highlights include a sell out concert at The National Jazz Festival in Tauranga 2007, as well as popular performances in the last year at the Mission Bay festival, Taste Auckland, the Oratia Jungle festival and the Titirangi festival, and her debut performance at an Australian Jazz Festival at Magnetic Island in north Queensland, in August 2011.

Trudy performs regularly with her band Mojave, as well as The Jazz Divas, and the Sisters Of Swing. In 2010 and 2011 she has been a regular feature at Skycity Auckland, and has recorded to albums with Mojave; 'Well Dressed Standards', was released in 2009, and the 2004 album ‘Ristretto’, which was described by New Zealand Musician Magazine “one of the best albums I’ve heard this year.”

She has also performed and recorded with The Jazz Divas, The Rodger Fox Big Band, Whirimako Black (2009 Jazz album of the Year), Andrew Atwill, Ishtar, Black Sand Diva, Dave Gibson, to King Kapisi.

A NZSM Masters graduate, Trudy is a talented and versatile musician and artist Teacher at NZSM Albany Campus, with a diverse background that includes the competitive world of orchestral classical flute, and performances and recordings in a variety of genres, from jazz, Latin, to world music.

Featured act 8pm -10pm followed by jazz jam session 10pm - 12am.
