Partner dance best described as a fusion of salsa and jive, but without the complicated footwork. It is derived from many other dances including French jive, swing, Lindy Hop, and rock and roll, the main change being simplified footwork which makes it more accessible to beginners.
Ceroc® brand modern jive is a funky partner dance generally done to chart, nightclub or swing music (you can also dance it to other music). Here is a partner dance that you can dance at parties, nightclubs - just about anywhere!
Ceroc Dance originated in the UK and was brought to New Zealand over 20 years ago. It is a fresh, new way to dance to modern music. It incorporates elements of other dance styles including salsa, swing, rock 'n' roll, jazz/funk and more. As a result, it can easily be danced to a very wide range of music. Go to almost any party and you can certainly dance Ceroc there.
Ceroc Dance is extremely easy to learn which makes Ceroc lessons fun. It is designed for first-time dancers with "two left feet", and yet can also be danced by very advanced and accomplished dancers. Best of all, Ceroc Dance is a great place to meet people and socialise. Across New Zealand you will find people who attend Ceroc Dance classes dancing the night away in clubs, parties and other social events.
Our classes are relaxed and friendly, and we focus on giving you the skills to dance 'freestyle' in public, choosing moves that suit you as you go. Ceroc Dance classes wont leave you with dance routines that can only be danced to certain music, in certain places. Being able to dance Ceroc really is a lifeskill you can use in your social life whenever you want.
