Auckland ensemble Carolina Moon perform exquisite ancient melodies and world music from their third recently released Mother Tongue CD in a moving musical journey that fuses cultures from the past and the present.

Their repertoire features the beautiful melodies of Judeo Spain which have been sung by generations of mothers, lovers and daughters of the Diaspora for almost 1000 years, together with charismatic klezmer feels, flamenco grooves, and original jazz-tinged infusions.

The ensemble assembles some of NZ's finest improvising artists including Nigel Gavin and Roger Manins and are joined by special guest Norman Meehan on piano. The group features representatives from Sephardic, Western and New Zealand cultures.
