Careful With Those Kids
Various
New Zealand
2008-2010, PG
A collection of recent New Zealand short films that all focus around Kiwi kids who get up to no-good in both thoroughly amusing and rather disturbing ways.
Careful With That Axe (director Jason Stutter) features a young boy trying his hand at chopping wood with his father’s razor sharp axe.
Little Angel (director Suzi Jowsey Featherstone) imagines the life of a meek young boy who is bossed around by his mother and sisters, until one summer’s day he decides to take revenge.
Licked (director Dan Salmon) is the story of two nine-year-old girls who strike a deal with a creepy stranger for some ice cream money.
Kehua (director Wiremu Grace) features a young boy returning to his home marae for the first time, where he makes the spooky discovery that he has a gift for seeing into the spirit world.
Roof Rattling (director James Blick) finds a young boy hunting for a fabled stash of dirty magazines getting trapped inside the house of an eccentric old man.
Careful with That Power Tool (director Jason Stutter) illustrates why children and power tools do not mix.
The Six Dollar Fifty Man (directors Mark Albiston, Louis Sutherland) has won awards around the world and follows the exploits of eight-year-old Andy – a dreamer with “super-human” powers.
Careful with That Crossbow (director Jason Stutter) is the third in the series featuring a boy... a girl... and a crossbow.
