Bruk Out - free monthly - November edition.
DBass Crew & Jafa Mafia Soundsystem present the fourth instalment of Bruk Out, bringing you the best in dancehall/bashment/UK funky.
Kicking off early at 9pm.
Extra bass bins provided by Jafa Mafia!
Resident selecters - DJ Locksteady Prospect Sam Rivers and Exile
With special guest - Tobi Jafa & Fakawi (36 Deep)
Tobi Jafa
Tobi Jafa is NZ born and London raised, originates from the London free party/rave and nightclub scene from the early through to late '90s and is a former resident of The End nightclub in London. Having played most genres of bassline music over the years including reggae, a link-up with Capt. Midnite and a shared passion for dancehall/reggae led to the foundation of the Jafa Mafia in 2004.
Fakawi (36 Deep)
More of a Producer than a DJ, Fakawi started out as a drummer in school days, went on to become passionate about music in all forms, had fully fledged lustings over grunge, metal and drum and bass/jungle. And he has gradually built up home studio equipment and knowledge over the past 15 or so years. He has had his eye on this dubstep thing a while now and was the face behind the now retired www.nzdubstep.com. When it occurred to him that no such other website existed at the time, he decided ‘why don’t I make it happen?’
Of course along the way there were the inevitable vinyl purchases and a collection of tunes that deserve to get played which involves crates bursting at the seams full of goodness ranging from dancehall through jungle, garage, UK funky, juke, dubstep, the odd classic pub anthem and some Fakawi originals. Look out for an upcoming live set using drum machines, controllers, keyboards etc as it is slowly being developed
Doors will be open early from 9pm so come in and indulge in the drink specials provided..
