Britomart Christmas Market

The final countdown to Christmas at Britomart begins with a special family-focused Britomart Christmas Market to be held in and around Takutai Square.

This special Christmas market will be centred around the City Farmers’ Market, which is held every Saturday morning all year round at Britomart.

In addition to the usual local seasonal produce stalls, there will be fashion and gift stalls from Britomart stores including The Poi Room, Kikki K, Lululemon, Coast, Havaianas, Molotov and Storeroom.

Popular ukulele band Tahini Jam will be setting the Christmas mood with their unique toe-tapping brand of festive music.

There will be surprise giveaways and activities for the kids, including face painting, cookie icing, Christmas card decorating and other art activities. Bean bags and tents will be set up to play in on Takutai Lawn and a very summery Santa will be in residence for free photo opportunities.

The market will take place rain or shine. In the event of wet weather, the activities will move under cover in the adjacent shopping gallery Atrium on Takutai.

There will be a free giftwrapping service on offer all day in the Atrium and at the Showcase, the newest retail complex in the centre of the precinct.

Fresh seasonal produce available now at City Farmers’ Market includes strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, asparagus, summer greens and herbs, as well as Christmas goods such as cookies, cakes, nuts and sweets. Other handmade artisan foods include olive oils, dukkah, relishes, sauces, spreads, mueslis and other food gifts.

The shops at Britomart will be open into the afternoon for customers wanting to carry on with their Christmas shopping.

There is plenty of parking available for shoppers at Britomart Car Park on the corner of Quay Street and Britomart Place. A $10 all-day parking special will apply on the day of the Britomart Christmas Market.
