The Bicentennary of Bishop Monrad's Birthday is being celebrated. The Opening and Mayoral Reception is to be held at Te Manawa, followed by lunch, a bus tour of historical interest, and afternoon tea.

On Sunday at 4pm there is to be an ecumenical service featuring the Advent Prayer written by Bishop Monrad in 1867. The service will be held at the Lutheran Church, Church Street, Palmerston North.
