The Curiosity Cabinet is a new venture for Lopdell House Gallery and is intended to provide an exhibition space and programme for upcoming and emerging contemporary jewellers and artists.

Our first jeweller to exhibit in the Curiosity Cabinet is Ben Beattie of Waiheke Island. Ben works with pounamu and creates works of intricate beauty and detail.

"I draw inspiration from the simple forms I see around me, they are so familiar to us that we often overlook their beauty. By representing them in stone, a permanent material, I hope to remind the viewer of their personal connection with nature".
