Luke, a versatile performer who spreads himself thinly across many genres, is a stalwart of renowned ‘Hatea Kapa Haka’, winners of national performance awards. He frequently makes appearances to help with fundraising efforts for many charities as a singer and stand-up comedian. His routines are wildly funny, sometimes a little risqué, and always outstandingly well prepared. Taking a support role in ‘Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story’ gave Luke an opportunity to prove his acting ability is just as comprehensively accomplished as his singing.
Luke has had professional engagements in theatre: ‘Cats’ in the Auckland season; television appearances, and sings with Opera North. A trained opera singer, he has competed in NZ aria competitions as one of Joan Kennaway’s pupils.
The forthcoming show, ’Free as a Bird’ will be a wonderful smorgasbord of song, comedy, opera and musical theatre.
