Alongside Behind Closed Doors the Adam Art Gallery is staging a changing programme of projects titled: in camera: a project series around and about collecting. Located in one room of the Adam Art Gallery, the Kirk Gallery, this series illuminates other personal acts of collecting.

Last days of (A Film Called) Ellipsis. Writer Anna Sanderson’s residency project finishes this Sunday 21 August, 5pm.

Opening next Saturday 27 August:
Leonid Tishkov and Boris Bendikov: Private Moon
Utilising humour, satire and poetic tenderness, Moscow-based artists Leonid Tishkov and Boris Bendikov provide poignant insights into the human condition, particularly the relationship between personal will and state control as experienced in Soviet Russia. This exhibition presents their most recent series of large-scale colour photographs. Each depicts an intimate and evolving relationship between a man and his Private Moon.
Exhibition organised by Marcus Williams, Unitec, Auckland.
27 August–2 October 2011

Critic’s talk:
Claudia Arozqueta on contemporary Russian video art
Sharing her knowledge of contemporary art in Moscow, art writer and curator Claudia Arozqueta will place the photographic work of Leonid Tishkov and Boris Bendikov in context by presenting a screening of recent video art from Russia. Opening event for the exhibition Private Moon, part 3 of in camera: a project series around and about collecting.
