Macombee & the Absolute Truth

Macombee & the Absolute Truth are something to behold. An avante garde big band with such a unique array of songs and sounds, it’s virtually impossible to pin them down. Unflinchingly direct, bracingly honest lyrics ooze from the storytelling swag bag of Macombee, the matriarch of this internationally composed nine piece outfit. Her songs are equal parts musical, movie, art, and fly on the wall documentary.

A 1930s Berlin-style Cabaret fused with amazing three and four part harmonies, to a backdrop of killer grooves and eccentric hooks that make for an epic sound that audiences are going nuts for. The songs are brought to life by a laugh out loud theatricality, creating a brand new genre they are calling "Caberlesque".

This event also features a unique night of art and entertainment – it’s an exclusive opportunity to bid on beautiful artworks by such artists as Dean Buchanan, Tracey Tawhiao, Daniel Blanshard and Philippa Crane.
