Czech violinist Josef Špaček, winner of the 2009 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, will return to New Zealand in August with his piano quartet, The Meler Ensemble. The group includes talented young New Zealand sisters Amanda Verner (viola) and Aleisha Verner (cello) and American pianist Andrew Tyson, who was a semi-finalist in the 2010 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
