With their own brand of mash-up magic, Yacht Club DJs are fast becoming a crowd favourite, selling out shows all over the country.

It started out innocently enough: the pair secured a residency at local indie venue Karova Lounge. But a few killer festival performances later, their debauchery knows no end, and their most recent tour was no exception.

Aptly titled “Batten Down the Hatches”, the tour saw bar records across the country smashed, impromptu parties held at airports, weird and excessive nudity, stage acrobatics – including using lighting rigs as monkey bars and second floors as diving boards – and a brush (or two) with the law.

But the main thing that turns the crowd into a pulsing, sweaty mess is Yacht Club’s formidable talent for mashing the most innocuous tracks into monster party anthems.

Playing songs no other act would dare – such as the 'Round the Twist' theme song or '90s hit 'Pump up the Jam' – the boys combine their unique tastes in music to create something entirely different. Guy, a self-confessed pop tragic, and Gaz, a heavy metal and punk rocker who was once in a Frenzal Rhomb tribute band, somehow make it work.
