Filthy McNasty (the title of a tune written by Horace Silver) was first put together in London from 1975 through to 1982. The band was more rocky than jazz as the line-up was Chris Thompson, (Manfred Man) Billy Kristian, Clive Edwards (drummer), Mike Walker and Stevie Lange.
A very well known English pup, the Bridge House, was the band's regular gig, and along with other bands recorded a night each.
For a long time now Mike has wanted to form another Filthy McNasty band, but one playing tunes written by the composer Horace Silver, so with the help of Roger Mannins (sax) Pete Barwick (trumpet), Pete McGregor (bass), Frank Gibson Jnr (drums) this is a "Tribute to Horace Silver" night.
