A real celebration of youth music. Over 120 jazz bands, concert bands, symphony orchestras and chamber orchestras from almost fifty secondary schools will impress you with free adjudicated performances over five days at the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the adjacent St Mary's Church.
This year marks the 28th anniversary of the KBB Music Festival, formerly known as the Auckland Secondary Schools Band and Orchestra Festival. Established in 1983 to encourage music in schools, the festival has since grown into the largest regional youth music event in New Zealand.
The KBB Music Festival will conclude with two Gala Concerts featuring the best groups selected by the adjudicators at 4pm and 7pm on Friday 19th of August at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
