Born in London and raised in the East end, Terry grew up around song and laughter. His Grandfather Henry sang traditional songs, supplementing his income street singing and poaching in the Essex countryside. Terry's father Charlie worked in a foundry from childhood and followed the music hall singers and comedians. In 1967 Terry emerged onto the English folk scene telling jokes and stories between songs to overcome stage fright. That worked, so now he performs at Folk Festivals, story gatherings and comedy clubs and is a great favourite with audiences worldwide.
