A 17m ramp outside Methven’s famous Blue Pub will be covered with 60 cubic metres of Mt Hutt snow, will be flanked by a FMX riders’ jump and will be highlighted with a massive fireworks display. The evening will finish with a huge after-party featuring top NZ band The Black Seeds performing in a marquee outside the Blue Pub.
The event will also mark the closing weekend of the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games. The Winter Games is an elite, international winter sports competition combined with a full programme of festival activities from 13 to 28 August 2011. This year, Canterbury is now part of the Winter Games with Mt Hutt hosting the Super G events and Methven will host several off-mountain activities.
