Keyboard Inspirations: 3 Pianists From 3 Countries

Dr Jack Richards and Te Kōkī, the New Zealand School of Music present a triple-feature piano recital: three outstanding pianists from three countries. A reception will follow the concert.

Jian Liu (China), Buz Bryant-Greene (New Zealand) and Tony Lee (Australia) will play an eclectic programme covering the history of piano repertoire: music by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Haydn, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Scriabin, Ibert, Wang.

The international flavour of the event is also highly appropriate: proceeds from the concert will be put towards the J. C. Richards Music Scholarship for Overseas Postgraduate Study, an annually awarded scholarship of $12,000 to support postgraduate music students wishing to undertake further study in music overseas. The scholarship is administered through the Victoria University Foundation.

This event will take place in the Hunter Council Chamber, Hunter Building, Victoria University of Wellington. Parking can usually be found on Kelburn Parade, or behind the Hunter Building by entering Gate 1. Seating is limited to 150, so to be sure of a seat, we encourage you to pre-purchase tickets online. Remaining seats will be available for door sale.

Donations to the J. C. Richards Music Scholarship for Overseas Postgraduate Study will also be accepted at the door or by mail. Receipts for donations can be issued on request for tax purposes.
