Do you know who you are? Do you know your roots? Genealogists claim that once you’ve glimpsed family history through the eyes of your ancestors, you’ll be hooked, but with so much information now available on the internet how do you get started? Or if you’re stuck, how do you break through those brick walls and move on from where you’re at?
If this sounds like you, then come along to NZ’s Family History Fair and find out how.
This show is the only one of its type in NZ and is the largest family history fair in Australasia. A "must attend" for the seriously addicted genealogist as well as those just beginning to discover their roots.
Fair entry includes an internet cafe with free access to Ancestry.com.au, findmypast.com.au, The Genealogist and ScotlandsPeople; commercial exhibitors, key NZ research repositories and “getting started” workshops for beginners.
Free advice & assistance from experienced NZ Society of Genealogist members covering Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Continental Europe, Maori research and Huguenot queries.
Exhibitors include: National Archives, National Library, National Army Museum, Maori Land Court, Central Auckland Research Centre, NZ BDMs, PapersPast, heritage societies, libraries, museums, Ancestry.com.au and findmypast.com.au.
Seminars are available at a small cost, with over 40 to choose from. Speakers from New Zealand, Australia and the USA will cover a wide range of topics. See our website for further details. For those with an interest in ballet, there is a special appearance by Sir Jon Trimmer as he personally presents the story of his own family history.
Once you’ve glimpsed history through the eyes of your ancestors, you’ll be hooked. The thrill of the chase, the piecing together of a puzzle, the gradual realisation you are who you are because of those who have come before you.
Come, join us at the fair. Book your tickets now. Door sales also available
