Octagon Rail Jam

On the 20th of August, Dunedin's vibrant city centre will play host to a downtown 'rail jam' come street party like nothing you have seen before...

Taking the exciting world of freestyle ski and board out of the mountains and into the city, the Octagon Rail Jam will take place on a purpose-built 11m tall ramp, covered with 30 tonnes of snow from Wanaka. This is a professionally run ski and board competition, right in the middle of Dunedin's biggest party! And guess what? It's all free!

The ORJ is two competitions rolled into one. the R&R Sport Jam Session is open entry... turning up the fun for you shredders just in it for a good time. Or think your game is up there? Step up and apply for a place in the Grabaseat Invitational alongside some of our sports top athletes. All up you can expect to see some of the best skiers and boarders in the game throwing down for a piece of our $20,000 prize pool. Live music, entertainment (ice sculptors, fire performers), and an awesome party atmosphere. Get down there!
