New Zealand's very own 'Soul Diva' Whirimako Black makes a welcome return to Christchurch in what promises to be the coolest of cool concerts in the CSO's 2011 season.
The virtuoso vocalist is undoubtedly one of this country's finest musicians. Her distinctive sound, use of traditional Māori musical forms and te reo Māori make her a unique and powerful voice for Aotearoa.
The raft of talent that will grace this stage is truly outstanding and will include multi talented musician and songwriter Mark Vanilau whose style encompasses jazz, soul, gospel and rock.
Soul songstress, L.A. Mitchell has firmly established herself in the NZ music scene and, along with her successful solo career, is a member of the top 10 band Dukes.
No stranger in bringing together such musical genre collaborations, Tom Rainey will take to the podium to lead the orchestra in this truly divine musical experience.
As part of the Christchurch Arts Festival this evening is a celebration of the musical talent that lies within our community.
