These classes are open to everyone, including those new to yoga, and they also have the flexibility of catering for those who are more experienced in their practice.

Yoga in Daily Life (YIDL) is a holistic system of health, encompassing the science of body, mind, consciousness and soul. While completely true to the authentic Indian tradition of classical yoga, it is adjusted to meet the needs of our times. The system aims to establish physical, mental, spiritual and social health, in other words to offer all that one requires in the search for peace of mind, harmony and fulfilment in life. To make these goals accessible to everyone, Yoga in Daily Life is structured as a graded system of learning. It contains eight progressive levels. The system is suitable for everybody regardless of age, state of health or cultural background. Today, Yoga in Daily Life is taught by certified yoga-teachers at over 4000 locations around the world.

Yoga in Daily Life’s work within the community has its emphasis in four main areas:
- Physical health - working to bring a natural state of physical balance to the body via release of muscular pain and tension, increased flexibility, relaxation, regeneration of inner organ function, improved circulation, development of the lungs and breathing processes and increased overall fitness.
- Mental health - fostering the development of a peaceful, relaxed and concentrated mind, free from high levels of stress associated with the modern world's daily activities.
- Social health - promoting an increased awareness of the needs of others and the needs of the environment. To create greater social harmony through a more responsible and caring society.
- Spiritual health - helping to develop a sense of purpose in every individual, to facilitate the realisation of an individual’s natural strengths and to awaken spiritual consciousness.

Held in the Dance Studio at Birkdale Intermediate School.
