Auckland Zoo's Africa Night: CANCELLED

About the event - Africa Night

If you've always wanted to visit Africa, but don't want to leave town, then come along to Auckland Zoo's annual Africa Night.

One of the highlights on the Zoo's events calendar, the evening begins with a behind-the-scenes tour giving visitors the chance to get up close to some of Africa's most spectacular wildlife including lions, hippos, rhinos, and giraffes.

To recover after your urban safari, you will move on to the Old Elephant House to enjoy a traditional African dinner and a special guest speaker. This will be followed by a live auction, which offers you the opportunity to bid for some unique and affordable items.

Africa Night is a joint fundraiser for the Auckland Conservation Fund and Zoological Society of Auckland to help support conservation projects and provide grants to further conservation work or studies.

"Africa Night is a way for people to have a great time while supporting local and international conservation projects for endangered wildlife," says Auckland Zoo conservation field programmes coordinator, Claudine Gibson.
