Auckland Jazz & Blues Club - Grant Chilcott

From boyhood talent-quest winner through to international performer, Grant Chilcott has appeared in his inimitable style, either live or through the mediums of television, radio and compact disc, to thousands of people.

People can trust Grant Chilcott - his music is impeccable; his taste the same. He provides music for dancing pleasure as well as listening pleasure and his repertoire is well nigh without limit. No matter what the setting, the music of Grant Chilcott ensembles are an integral part of the scene. Again and again the genial leader has provided his three to ten piece bands to lend harmony and grace to the scene.

Since his early teenage years Grant has been learning the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin Tony Bennett and their contemporaries. His playlist of 'classic' songs is headed by the masters of cool; Gershwin, Porter, Arlen, Coward plus enough others to a total repertory of over 2,000. All gathered from the 1920s, '30s, '40s, '50s with an occasional infusion from the '60s and '70s.
