Auckland International Carnival 2011

Straight from the countries of the Caribbean, South America and festivals from around the world comes the thrilling spirit of Carnival!

New Zealand’s second International Carnival is brought to you in association with our event partner Glen Innes Business Association.

The one day festival extravaganza that offers its visitors the opportunity to experience the dazzling and spectacular energy of Carnival! Celebrate the melting pot of cultures, colour, and people that make Auckland unique.

The highlights will include:
The street Carnival costume parade show casing character, cultural and fantastical costumes, with hot rhythms, theatrical performances and dance providing a festive atmosphere and exhilarating blend of creativity, excitement, partying and mixture of sounds.

Along with a concert featuring some of Aotearoa’s finest home grown musicians, international act and emerging new talent, it will be a day the whole family will enjoy and remember.

For children there will be the Kid zone, young people are spoilt for choice with a designated youth hub. Patrons will be able to sample culture and cuisine from around the world in the global village.

Street Entertainment & International Poetry Slam introduced. Register your interest to perform or hold a non food stall on the homepage.
