Art In The Dark

The illuminating, interactive community art event, Art in the Dark, will capture the imagination of Auckland this November.

Art In The Dark is a celebration of design and lighting festival. It is free to the public and made up of over 30 stunning works of art, installations and creative performances.

This award-winning event was conceptualised by Creative Director Celia Harrison - “Art in the Dark is about celebrating New Zealand’s artists and creativity. It has been overwhelming watching this event grow from an idea into a reality”

Starting in 2010 Art In The Dark has gone on to win a Gold at the Best Awards for Spatial Design in its first year. It has tripled its funding and will be expecting 15,000+ visitors this year.

The event celebrates and fosters a great sense of community, and is based on environmental best practice and sustainability. The entire event is eco-friendly, projects will be powered by clean energy, with minimal waste.

Art In The Dark is an exciting portrayal of what can happen with the support of the community. Bring your kids and come and see art in a new light!
