- 3.30pm–4.30pm: Tribute to Astor Piazzola
Piazzola was the main composer in a movement called ‘new tango’. He led a revolution in integrating jazz and classical influences to create a concert form of tango. This is often the first style of tango music that non-Argentine audiences hear.

4xTango quartet
Join Slava Faitniski (violin), Catherine McKay (piano), Brenton Veitch (cello), Emilio Bertrand (piano accordion), and some special guests.

4XTango formed in Wellington about a year ago .The band resulted from the incorporation of the Argentine accordion into the popular kiwi trio 3 to Tango. This merger combines the formidable quality of local musicians with a ‘barrio’ style. Come and absorb the cadence and soul of tango from the heart of Buenos Aires!
