Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day) is a national holiday in the Netherlands. It is one of the most extraordinary and colourful events in the world: literally a whole country turns orange and parties!
But you don’t have to travel all the way to Holland: We hereby invite you to come and experience an orange street party with the Dutch community at the Holland Festival in the Quarry Arts Centre in Whangarei! Entry is free when your wear orange (or buy something orange for only $2 per item at the door).
See the Quarry turn orange, wander through the free market (vrijmarkt) where the kids sell second hand goods and bric-a-brac, encourage your kids when they play traditional games, play a carnival game, admire the kids' crafts, try some yummy Dutch and international food and drinks, learn some Dutch tunes, listen to live music, be amazed by roving performers and much more... And above all: have fun!
