One family. One thousand secrets.

Beverley Weston is an academic and minor poet of some renown. He's also an alcoholic. When he suddenly goes missing, the clan returns to the family home in Osage County, Oklahoma, to confront their secrets, lies, guilt and the lacerating tongue of their pill-popping mother Violet. They wound each other and tolerate each other's aberrations as families do - yet somewhere under all the dysfunction lurks a kind of love.

With thirteen actors, three explosive acts and enough revelations to power several soap operas, August: Osage County is at once corrosively funny, brilliant, bitter and deeply moving. It has electrified audiences in New York and London, winning five Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

"The must-see play of the year - possibly a lifetime" - Mail on Sunday

"Turbo-charged tragicomedy... the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years. Fiercely funny and bitingly sad." - New York Times.

Jennifer Ludlam reprises her acclaimed performance as Violet.

Music by Gareth Farr.

Starring: Jennifer Ludlam, Ray Henwood, Michele Amas, Jane Waddell, Jeffrey Thomas, Laura Hill, Jonathon Hendry, Tina Regtien, Simon Vincent, Anya Tate-Manning, Christopher Brougham, Richard Chapman, Lauren Gibson.

Season proudly supported by Peter and Mary Biggs.

Circa's 35th birthday show.
