A touring art exhibition featuring New Zealand’s top secondary school visual art portfolios will be on display at Tauranga Art Gallery.
The annual exhibition, Top Art, represents a selection of the top visual arts portfolios from students throughout New Zealand. All of the students involved gained Excellence for their work at NCEA level 3 in 2010.
Top Art provides an opportunity for secondary students and teachers to view the high standard of art produced in schools and gain an understanding of what is required to achieve Excellence in Visual Art at level 3. It is also an opportunity for members of the public to see the high quality art being created in schools.
The touring exhibition will be hosted by approximately 33 venues around New Zealand until mid August.
As the exhibition has been split into two sections, not all local students’ work will be on display in their hometowns.
