Wondering what to do these school holidays? Stardome can entertain you rain or shine with a fun and educational show about stars.

This show includes the popular 'Legends of Orion' screening in our planetarium theatre, then get creative in an educational arts and crafts session, making your own kite and paper model of a constellation. Following this, we will be launching model rockets in the park outside (weather permitting).

Join Aesop the owl and Socrates the mouse, on a journey through space to tell the animated story of Orion the Hunter.

In this imaginative legend, hear the importance of Orion's club, his shield and his belt - all of which can be seen in our night sky. Learn how many constellations (or groups of stars that join together to make an image) can be seen in New Zealand's night sky every night. If the skies are clear at the end of the show, the kids can run off some energy in One Tree Hill, one of Auckland's most beautiful parks.

Not on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Suits children 5-12 years.

Book now by calling 09 624 1246 or emailing info@stardome.org.nz.
