Liquefaction is a word that has entered popular usage since the disastrous Christchurch earthquakes. Over the last seven years civil engineer Garth Wilson has gained practical understanding of the phenomenon and during that time has come up with measures to help mitigate this hazard. He will explain the phenomenon in simple terms and describe some of the procedures that can lessen its impact.
Free with admission to the museum.
