Rotorua Lakes 2011 Symposium. Great keynote speakers from overseas are now confirmed for the symposium Fix a Lake and Grow a City. Leading New Zealand and international speakers will provide a rich and interesting programme.
The issue is "How can cities can clean up their lakes and waterways, and prosper at the same time?". The symposium will show how to reduce nutrient pollution to a lake, but at the same time develop a city. Lake Rotorua and the city of Rotorua are a case study.
The LWQS has led the way in bringing together the expertise needed to restore lakes. The Rotorua Lakes 2011 Symposium goes a step further in showing how a city can grow while saving its lakes.
This will be the 7th LWQS symposium. It promises to be of interest to regional and local governments, environmentalists, scientists and those interested in tourism, forestry, agriculture and energy.
