Presenting the debut of a performance night like no other. The Electric Salon - we call it "cabaret from the future" or "the Clockwork Orange of variety shows". Music! Drag! Burlesque! Poetry! Visual effects! Gender blur! Radical cultural politics! Weird audience! Lotsa larfs and sex!

Starring: Swampy Tonk, Vostok Lake, Scarlett Lashes, Benny Profane, Sarah Houbolt, Afrojiziak and Miss Phloss Burlesque. Hosted by Miss Kita Mean...

Support weird performance art in Auckland. You have not seen anything like this, nor do you know anyone who has.

Scarlett Lashes and The Pseudo Dancers is an electric cabaret diva, singing trash about love and morality in the modern era. Scarlett likes to get dirty, with plenty of lashings, sweet cakes and robotic dancing. Mr VB Bakerman and the Pseudo Dancers will be joining forces with Scarlett to whip up some sugary goodness.

Vostok Lake is an androgynous cyborg from the nasty, fun-loving remote future - "a place where the women are bold, brash and colourful and the music is loud, jangly and queer-as-folk" (Express). If you like old-school electro-pop, Gothic opera, prog-rock keyboard madness, audience participation, and the kind of science fiction that gives you nightmares, then Vostok Lake could very well save your soul.

Swampy Tonk are a gang of loveable rascals hailing from the stanky suburbs of central Auckland, playing songs of the mountains and songs of the sea, songs to break you and songs to shake you, songs of sadness and songs of madness, sh*t-kicking riffs and sleepy time waltzes. Clubbing the bones of the innocent since 2008.

Benny Profane:
Scoundrel, rogue and all around "dab hand", Benny Profane's voice wings high and low, operatic to growling, as he takes the audience on an adventure through somnambulistic wanderings, whimsical flirtations and love songs from the Cataclysm.
