Howick Pakuranga top order batsman Andrew de Boorder will take over the captaincy after the departure of Kyle Mills to join the BLAKCAPS in India. The Aces also lose Daryl Tuffey to that cause but are bolstered by the recovery from injury of Michael Bates. The only addition to the squad is paceman Lance Shaw, which gives the Aces some more fast bowling options.
