In VOICE and Music

at Pah Homestead

Saturday, April 2, 5-7pm Cost: $5

Auckland’s most distinctive voices are converging on the TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre, bringing dynamic poetry and musical performances.

The next In VOICE and Music is at Pah Homestead is on April 2, 5pm, with poets Tim Heath, James Crompton and Michael Botur accompanied by musicians Anna Kaye and Miho Wada. The ornate Pah Homestead is Auckland’s architectural jewel, located at the crest of Monte Cecilia Park, 72 Hillsborough Road.

James, Anna, Tim, Michael and Miho are all experienced performers in the Auckland arts scene…

James Crompton is a host of Poetry Live and has had several poems published in various journals such as Tongue in Your Ear and Live Lines. In May, he is releasing a selection of poems entitled Autumn.

A stalwart of the live music scene in Auckland, singer and songwriter Anna Kaye puts a fresh face on the folk-pop genre with her blend of sublime and sometimes quirky originals. Anna Kaye has released an EP, Little Bonfire, featuring her band The Engineers.

Tim Heath has had three stories broadcast by Radio NZ, poems published in various magazines and success in poetry slams. Tim has written a novel and in 2009 completed the Masters of Creative Writing course at AUT.

When Michael Botur gets sick of sitting in his armchair writing fiction, he gets up and performs poetry. Botur is currently working on a case of beer and a new novel. Botur writes for Auckland arts magazine RenegadeHouse.co.nz.

Miho Wada is a well-established multi-instrumentalist and singer from Japan/New Zealand. She has performed around the world touring with many groups. She has recorded with Iggy Pop, performed with Jarvis Cocker, Nigel Kennedy, members of Buena Vista Social Club and Sierra Maestra. She has also been mentored by Seun Kuti and toured around the world with Ska Cubano.
