For the first time since selling out the Ponsonby Gluepot in 1993, UK performance poet and writer of sometimes serious, sometimes silly songs, ‘Attila The Stockbroker’ is back, and playing two intimate NZ shows only.

Inspired by punk, Attila started as a bass player in 1977 and took his stage name during a short stint as a stockbroker's clerk (he hated it and it hated him). In the 1980s, he was often the support act of choice for bands such as The Jam, The Alarm, The Newtown Neurotics and New Model Army. He also performed extensively with fellow punk-inspired ranting poets John Cooper Clarke, Ben Zephaniah and Seething Wells. Not to mention appearing on several high profile compilation LPs and having his debut LP ‘Ranting the Nation' released locally in New Zealand.

Since then he’s proud to have earned his living as a poet/musician for nearly 30 years and has done more than 2,800 shows in 24 countries - at venues ranging from the Glastonbury Festival (every year since 1983) and countless other festivals in the UK, Europe, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, freezing punk squats in Germany, Eton, the Oxford Union and a hotel basement in Stalinist Albania!

Fans can look forward to a night of sarcastic wit and tongue in cheek political observations that have been marinated in three decades of punk rock and micro-brewery beer swilling, and quite possibly a mandolin song about a certain deceased politician’s private parts!

Extremely limited tickets available. Snooze or lose - no venue upgrades.
