This is a gentle, safe environment for you to be with other women who have similar experiences and feelings. It is a time for you to share what’s going on for you. You can attend as often as you feel you need to.
It is a free service, although a gold coin donation is welcome. As we are a non-for-profit group, your donations help with running costs. This group is suitable for those with ‘babes-in arms’ (i.e. not running about yet!). Mums enjoy a relaxed, safe and flexible atmosphere in a professionally facilitated, peer support group of fellow women at various stages. We do not label or diagnose, we listen. You do not need a referral from your doctor or any other practitioner or specialist. The Post Natal Distress Support Network Trust offers free support services for women with postnatal depression. We offer support groups, telephone support, and drop–in support.
Emma Green is a childbirth educator and group facilitator, she currently facilitates the support groups for the Postnatal Distress Support Network. Emma has 3 children, aged 9, 7 and 3. She has experienced PND after the birth of her second child, which she suspects was there after the birth of her first child and went unrecognised. Her passion is in listening to women, hearing their stories and supporting them on their journey, whatever stage they are at.
If you think you would like to attend, or require more information please contact the PND Trust Office on 836 6967 or go to their website.
This event is free.
