Nineteen Eighty-Four

1984 is a powerful examination of what might have been – and may still be. It is a work of fiction, not prophesy. It is an extrapolation of the history and political philosophies of the early twentieth century - Francisco Franco’s “New State”, Hitler’s Third Reich and Leninist and Stalinist Communist Russia. This will be a complex multi-media production merging live performance with pre-recorded video and audio.

Director Syd Mannion is a familiar face both on and off stage in Auckland theatre for many years. As an actor and director he has been involved in a wide range of productions that include comedy, drama, multimedia, music and dance.
