In association with Redbull, Legacy Feel presents Obsession, "New Zealand's hottest urban weekly event". Every Thursday. A second to none weekly line up like no other...
Resident DJs:
Sir-Vere:
Sir-Vere is a hip hop pioneer. He has always been at the forefront of the movement, learning the secrets and tricks of people like Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay and DJ Premier from their records, accumulating knowledge of what makes a good and popular sound.
Sir-Vere's journey has now seen him as the host of the Major Flavour on national radio station Mai FM. He has also become a TV personality in his own right as the host of the Holla Hour on C4. What is important about all these media appearances is the promotion Sir-Vere gave to hip hop in general and in particular to local acts, presenting them in conjunction with international acts showed that Aotearoa had its own hip hop voice, different from America but just as vital and interesting. As well as his TV and numerous DJing commitments, nowadays you'll find Sir-Vere at his College Hill office in Auckland as the editor of NZ's dedicated hip hop magazine, Back2Basics. His hugely successful Major Flavours compilations are now in their seventh instalment in New Zealand, with 5 releases in Australia.
Peter James/Taktix (Legacy Feel):
Joined together over the last couple of years to make a huge impact in the local clubbing scene, from bringing you Swagger & Next Level which are two of New Zealand's hottest clubbing weekly events and now present "Radio Swag" mix show which airs every Saturday night on Mai Fm 88.6, these two have been putting in work together across the board, as-well as working hard on their solo projects.
With resident MC Ethical:
In a degenerating world of hip hop driven by sex, guns and bling, one who chooses the name Ethical has a few stereotypes to erase and a great many to live up to. Described as “honest”, “real”, “straight up”, Ash Hughes – Ethical - chose this MC name to reflect his personality and the beliefs and values he holds dear. An Oddball, he has that group’s inherent “distinctive” status, and a cheek that - with a penchant for speaking the sometimes offensive truth - can land him in trouble. It makes his talent and focus that much more important. He really is the label’s best kept secret.
Code's ultimate sound system!
Designed by WaveFront with over 15,000 watts of dance floor power, driving 4 double 18 inch subs and 4X EM186 Mid-Hi’s specially shipped in from the UK. Code's sound system is at the leading edge of Showcase venues and amongst the top 10 installations in the country!... This alone reinforces Code as NZ’s #1 nightclub and will become a requested stop by travelling international talent touring down under!
Live camera crew (Snap Star) will be there to catch memorable moments.
Hot drink specials (all night). Complimentary snacks.
The only night a week you can come into Code for an exclusive lineup of hip hop & RnB whereas every other club plays hip hop & RnB every other night.
Dress to impress - Boyz rock your flyest caps and you illest kicks but don't leave your house without your collared shirt, that's right, we stepping it up and bringing back style...
Door's open 10pm.
Stay tuned to Mai FM 88.6 & Flava for more details.
Let the Obsession begin...
