Reel Brazil Film Festival: the home of Brazilian cinema in New Zealand!

After steaming up Wellington with a hot and contemporary film programme, Reel Brazil arrives in Auckland, post Rugby World Cup. The films on show are well-travelled, well-awarded or here simply because we think New Zealanders should have the opportunity to see them.

The festival is back with the best elements of previous festivals: the Corporate Opening Night, the free festa, and the fruit – a hand-picked selection of Brazilian films.

From docos about music, a dance troupe, and drug laws, to features about a talking blender, a capoeira master, an imaginative child, after death sci fi, and a vulnerable con-man, Reel Brazil is the perfect antidote to rugby mania!

Have you ever been to a Brazilian party? If not, “no problema!” On the festival weekend, put your fruit hat on and party Brazilian style at the Reel Brazil Festa, with live entertainment, DJs and Brazilian cocktail drink specials.
