Entry for 2011 Manawatu Chinese Speech Competition has now started!

All Chinese language (Mandarin) learners of any age, either attending a Chinese School, tertiary institution or studying Chinese privately are invited to enter in 5th Manawatu Chinese Speech Competition 2011. Participants may choose any topic they wish and perform in nursery rhyme, story or monologue. Singing or karaoke performances are not permitted. The judging panel assesses the speeches on presentatin, content and language across 11 categories based on competitor's age, native language background, and how long they have been studying Chinese.

All adjudicators are Chinese language education and study professionals from Victoria University and Massey University.

Prizes will be awarded for the frist and second in each category. 2011 Chinese Speech Competition entries close on Friday 7 October 2011. There is no entry fee.
